Chemical Peels: Be Bright and Merry for the New Year

La Suite offers chemical peel step-up-programs that address every skin concern. Our medically trained, licensed aestheticians Rhea, Madalina and Iwona have perfected combination peels that solve common concerns. All first-time chemical peel clients receive a consultation at the beginning of your appointment, during the cleanse, to identify the best series for you and educate on the proper post-care of chemical peels.

Rosacea Program: La Suite specializes in helping manage the symptoms of rosacea, an incurable condition that affects 1 in 20 people. Cosmopolitan Beauty Director Carly Cardellino (above) said her rosacea skin has never looked better after this treatment series. While peels and rosacea may seem counterintuitive, our aestheticians actually strengthen the skin’s natural barrier and reduce inflammation by alternating strengths of buffered trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and lactic acid. Clients have the option to add ultrasound with LED or sonophoresis enhancements (+$200) for best results.

Acne Program: Developed in close partnership with our dermatologists, the acne peel program is highly customized to your skin’s hormonal changes. The three-step cleanse reveals your type of acne and any impending breakouts, which informs the percentages in which our aestheticians combines salicylic acid, azelaic acid, and TCAs. Cystic acne can be painful, so clients are often worried that peels will worsen their breakouts. However, the natural and ideal pH of healthy skin is 5.5, which is slightly acidic. Studies have shown that people with acne often display higher, more alkaline pHs. When our aestheticians apply medical-grade acids with pHs between 1.5 and 1.8, they are actually helping bring your alkaline skin to a lower and more ideal pH.

Hyperpigmentation Program: This step up program starts with a lightweight mandelic and lactic acid combination peel and eventually builds up to a high-powered, shed-the-dead brightening peel with arbutic, kojic, phytic, lactic and retinoic acid. Clients with melasma, sun spots or age spots will enjoy more even-toned skin over time. This program is well-suited for patients also working with laser therapy. Our client, above, saw Madalina for a series of peels in-between her Clear+Brilliant Permea treatments with Dr. Claire Chang.

Glow Program: Best suited for normal skin types who want to glow from the inside out, this program embraces the power of antioxidants. Start with a 30% alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) plus Vitamin C, alternated with a salicylic, vitamin C and lactic acid combination. The series finishes with our most elegant peel, with salicylic acid, mandelic acid, resorcinol acid, malic acid, phytic acid, panthenol, quillaja and saponaria bark extract. Illumination, mastered.
