Hayley Leight-Dunn, M.D., is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and an esteemed American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellow at UnionDerm.

Dr. Leight graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in French language from West Virginia University. She was elected a WVU Outstanding Senior, graduating in the top 30 students overall from the University that year as well as inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Dr. Leight then spent a year as an ambassador for the United States Fulbright Scholars Program in Palembang, Indonesia working in a local underserved high school as an English teacher while fostering the mission of Fulbright to increase mutual understanding between people of the United States and the world.

She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from West Virginia University School of Medicine. During her time in medical school, she received the highest honors in every course and was awarded for being the top student in surgery, internal medicine, pathology, and public health. She was inducted into the selective Alpha-Omega-Alpha medical honor society for her leadership and scholarship during her third year of medical school. After completing the Tropical Medicine and Traveler’s Health Clinical Training Course, she traveled to Barbuda and Guatemala for clinical medicine rotations.

Dr. Leight completed her internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at the prestigious Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. During residency, Dr. Leight was involved in clinical trials on platelet-rich plasma for androgenic alopecia (hair loss), and on the utility of the picosecond laser for photoaging and patient age perception. She served as chief resident during her final year of residency.

Dr. Leight has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Clinical Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology and Journal of Drugs in Dermatology. She has presented at many national and local meetings including the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Winter Clinical Dermatology Conference in Hawaii as well as Grand Rounds at her institution.

Dr. Leight is passionate about making her patients feel and look their personal best. She strives to provide each person with an individualized and comprehensive treatment plan. She is an expert in medical and cosmetic dermatology and focuses on injectables, lasers and other energy-based devices as well as hair loss in men and women.

Dr. Leight is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.

She is passionate about clinical dermatology research and is excited to now start her Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship at UnionDerm.
