ThermiVa is an FDA-cleared technology designed to non-invasively rejuvenate vaginal tissue. The system uses radio frequency energy for a mostly painless treatment that requires no anesthesia or recovery time following treatment. ThermiVa treatments are used to tighten vaginal tissue (internal), tighten vulvar/labial tissue (external), decrease dryness, reduce stress incontinence or leakage accidents, and increase sexual satisfaction.
Our Assessment: We are thrilled to offer the ThermiVa procedure to our patients! We have been using radio frequency devices on the face, neck and other body areas for over a decade because of their ability to tighten and firm skin. Our experience with radio frequency tightening has helped our patients achieve satisfactory results in the vaginal area.
In the video below you can watch Red Allinson, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. explain the procedure:

How does ThermiVa work?
ThermiVa uses targeted radio frequency energy to gently remodel vaginal tissue and stimulate fibroblasts in the skin and the mucosa, promoting the body’s natural production of collagen. Externally, this stimulates tightening of the labia, which may loosen after pregnancy or with natural aging. Internally, ThermiVa works to tighten the vaginal walls and rejuvenate tissue, to reduce incontinence symptoms, and improve lubrication and sensitivity during sex.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects are extremely rare and there is no expectation of soreness or numbness after treatment.

How long is the treatment? How many treatments are required?
ThermiVa is an in-office procedure that takes approximately 20 – 30 minutes. While results may begin to show almost immediately, we recommend a series of three treatments spaced one month apart for optimal results.
What is the recovery like? Any downtime?
Most patients report no discomfort and there is no downtime after treatment.
How long do results last?
Individual results vary, and all patients are different, but many women who receive the full series of three treatments report benefits lasting up to two years.
Am I a good candidate for ThermiVa?
ThermiVa treatments should not be performed on patients who are pregnant, or have a history of sores or skin infection in or around the area of treatment. The best way to determine if this treatment is right for you is to schedule a consultation with one of our world-class physicians: call 212-366-5400 or simply book an appointment online.
