DR. LAUREN HOFFMAN
FELLOW
Dr. Lauren Hoffman, M.D., is a board-certified dermatologist and the current American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellow at UnionDerm.
Dr. Hoffman received her Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Behavior with honors from Barnard College. She completed her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she graduated with a Distinction in Research in Dermatology for her work on treatment and the psychosocial burden of Hidradenitis Suppurativa. After completing her internal medicine internship at Staten Island University Hospital, she returned to Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center where she completed her dermatology residency training, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. As a resident, she pursued research in understanding the impact of aesthetic procedures on satisfaction with appearance and personal wellbeing, cosmetic correction of cutaneous features of connective tissue disorders, and understanding perceived barriers of entry of minority residents entering dermatologic surgery subspecialities.
Dr. Hoffman has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals including Dermatologic Surgery, Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has also had the opportunity to present at numerous national meetings including American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) Annual Meeting and Society of Investigative Dermatology (SID) Annual Meeting.
Dr. Hoffman is a member of the AAD, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS), and Skin of Color Society (SOCS). She has served on national leadership committees for AAD, including “The World Congress Fund Review” Task Force Committee.
