What is AviClear
AviClear is the first laser treatment designed to specifically treat mild, moderate, and severe inflamed and cystic acne lesions. The treatment emits wavelengths that target the sebaceous glands to reduce the sebum production. By decreasing your skin’s sebum (aka oil) production, you’re less likely to experience acne following treatment.
What can I expect with AviClear:
The AviClear device contains a cooling tip that helps make the treatment more comfortable for patients. It typically doesn’t require anesthetic and it’s generally well tolerated. Most patients require three treatments spaced one month apart, with treatments usually lasting about 30 minutes. The treatment has minimal downtime and after care consists of diligent sunscreen application. You may experience some skin purging a week or two weeks after treatment.
DermaV is a laser treatment that utilizes two wavelengths to target brown and red skin discoloration simultaneously. The device delivers laser energy that’s converted into heat in your blood vessels. That heat contracts your blood vessels, fading their appearance. It’s effective for reducing vascular skin concerns like redness, rosacea, flushing, and spider veins. DermaV also fades age spots, birthmarks, and freckles. The laser has controlled heating to target those spots without damaging the top layers of your skin.
What can I expect with DermaV?:
Each treatment can range from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on what you’re targeting. The pain level varies patient-to-patient and also depends on the treatment area. You might feel a little discomfort during a treatment—like a rubber band softly snapping against your skin, but the cooling element helps reduce any pain. Some patients will see results after one treatment and others may require multiple sessions.
DermaSweep is a next-level micro-resurfacing treatment that uses a gentle bristle tip to exfoliate the top layer of skin and target a multitude of skin concerns, including acne, hyperpigmentation, and signs of aging. According to data collected from clinical trials, DermaSweep is safe for sensitive or reactive skin and delivers noticeable results in as little as a single treatment.
DermaSweep improves skin texture and increases radiance by stimulating the renewal of collagen production and encouraging lymphatic drainage. The combination treatment doesn’t just exfoliate, but also allows physicians to infuse the skin with useful nutrients like hyaluronic acid or vitamin C to fit patients’ unique needs. There are many infusion formulas available, including the “Red Carpet” infusion, which evens tone and boosts the skin’s overall glow.
What can I expect with DermaSweep?:
DermaSweep is a painless, 30-minute treatment without downtime. It can be done in a three-part series, though results are often visible after a single visit. Unlike traditional microdermabrasion, DermaSweep does not use crystals, therefore eliminating the irritation or inflammation that comes with embedded debris. The treatment allows the physician to adjust the aggression of the suction-like exfoliating bristle to fit the patient’s level of sensitivity.
DermaSweep is approved for use on the face, including the eye area, as well as the neck and décolletage, both of which are often subject to sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and signs of age. The treatment is also approved for use on the hands and arms—DermaSweep can diminish the appearance of Keratosis pilaris in this area in particular.Consult with your physician when deciding which areas to try DermaSweep.
The physician may also suggest infusing the device with nutrients based on the patient’s needs—these nutrients include hyaluronic acid, vitamin c, humectants, and more.
Afterward, the patient may experience mild tightness or tingling, as with any exfoliation, but the skin will likely feel smoother and feel more refreshed.
Morephus8 is a minimally invasive, deep fractional skin treatment that combines microneedling with radio frequency. This combination stimulates collagen production by penetrating deeply into and heating layers of dermis, triggering collagen production for tighter, smoother skin on both the face and body. The device’s modular tips allow the treatment to target areas large and small with minimal risk of hyperpigmentation. The device targets the deflation of soft tissue, including the jowls, as well as fine lines, cellulite, stretch marks, and acne scars.
What can I expect with Morpheus8?:
Typically, Morpheus8 results in little discomfort and downtime. During the treatment, the applicator passes over the skin of the affected area and penetrates the subdermal tissue, targeting areas of laxity or soft tissue. The device coagulates fat and contracts connective tissue to tighten and correct lines, marks, and wrinkles on the treated area.
The Clear + Brilliant® laser is optimized for preventing and addressing early signs of aging including skin texture, firmness, elasticity and pore-size appearance. It has been one of our favorite energy devices as it provides less invasive and affordable treatments with minimal if any downtime that can be preventative as well as restorative. Several patients notice improved skin appearance and a “glow” almost immediately, and it is a great introductory laser for patients who do not need more intensive treatments or want to avoid the downtime.
The Permea treatment combines the Clear and Brilliant laser with a topical antioxidant treatment. The special Permea handpiece is optimized for brighter more even skin tone and enhanced skin permeability.
What can I expect with Clear + Brilliant®?:
Our medical professional will gently guide the Clear + Brilliant® hand-piece across the target area and actively treat your skin for approximately 15-20 minutes
Accufit is a revolutionary, non-invasive sculpting treatment that tones the muscles of the abdomen, arms, thighs and buttocks to deliver impressive, athletic results.
What can I expect with Accufit?:
Accufit delivers electro-muscular stimulation to the treated area through attachable electrodes. It builds muscle by causing muscle contractions—the same way exercising does. Unlike competitive devices, Accufit uses waveforms to simulate an actual workout. You’ll go through a series of twists, holds, grips and taps. The relaxing treatments are about 30 minutes each and do not cause any discomfort! Our Board-Certified Dermatologists recommend an initial series of 4 treatments within 2-4 weeks. Optimal results appear in 8-12 weeks (more average muscle mass gain than any competitive device). We also offer an exclusive membership program for those interested in long-term benefits!
CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive procedure for the reduction of unwanted fat tissue, utilizing a patented method known as cryolipolysis, or the use of cooling to break down fat. CoolSculpting® employs precisely controlled cooling to naturally reduce unwanted fat in areas such as the abdomen, flanks, upper arms or neck and jowls (double chin). Only fat cells are frozen and once crystallized, these fat cells are naturally eliminated from your body.
What can I expect with CoolSculpting®?:
During the procedure, a non-invasive applicator is placed on the patient, and the tissue being treated is brought into contact with cooling panels on the applicator. The Coolsculpting system delivers precisely controlled cooling to target and eliminate fat cells in specific body areas, such as the abdomen, love handles and the back. The fat is cooled over a period up to 1 hourper application site while the patient is sitting comfortably in the office.
Eliminate the fat overlying the muscles while also increasing the muscle density. Evolve is the first, revolutionary, all-in-one platform that draws on 3 different technologies to remodel skin, target fat tissue and tone muscles. UnionDerm is one of the preferred researchers investigating the technology. We have seen significant results in patients with stubborn pockets of fat, laxity, and lack of muscle definition, even despite their regular healthy exercise and diet.
What can I expect with InMode Envolve?:
Evolve Tite: Radio-frequency energy is scientifically proven to remodel skin and improve its appearance. The 8 hands-free applicators deliver uniform and volumetric heating to the skin & sub-dermal layer, to provide customized pain-free skin remodeling.
Evolve Trim: 6 hands-free applicators which deliver Radio-Frequency (RF) energy and a tissue vacuum. The patented technology delivers a uniform thermal effect to the deepest layers of subcutaneous fat to provide ideal body contouring.
Evolve Tone: works by emitting electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to simulate involuntary muscle contractions. Tone’s 4 hands-free applicators target specific muscle groups to refine the appearance and strength of the muscle.
Kybella is a synthetic formulation of deoxycholic acid, which is a substance naturally synthesized by our body and used to break down and absorb dietary fat. Kybella has been under development for more than 9 years, and has been the subject of over 20 clinical studies involving more than 2600 patients. When properly injected in the chin area, it has been shown to dissolve submental fat (which causes double chin) and result in significant cosmetic improvement by creating a more streamline contour along the jawline.
What can I expect with Kybella?:
Kybella was approved by the FDA in May 2015. Dr. Chapas has participated in Kybella’s training program to train physicians nationwide since the summer of 2015. Kybella is administered by injections into the fat under the chin through a series of treatments spaced no less than one month apart. The treatment plan is tailored to the desired outcome by the treating physician. The total number of treatments varies–typically in the range between 2 and 5. We expect that most patients will receive two treatments spaced 1-2 months apart, but your physician will determine the best regime during your consultation based on your physiology and goals.
QWO is a non-invasive injectable procedure that treats moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of women. We’ve also been treating the upper thighs with similar success! By injecting directly into cellulite, Qwo may help to breakdown or release the collagen-rich bands that pull on the skin surface and contribute to “dimpling.”
What can I expect with QWO?:
UnionDerm served as clinical investigators in the research that led to the FDA-approval of this injectable in 2019. We saw significant improvement in patients’ cellulite dimples and the most long-lasting results (several years) in the entire cellulite treatment category. Our Board-Certified Dermatologists helped develop the medical protocol for doctors around the United States to follow. Medical Director Dr. Anne Chapas has spoken about the treatment to SHAPE Magazine, New Beauty Magazine, The Aedit, and RealSelf.
Treatments should be repeated every 21 days for a total of 3 treatment visits. Results are best seen 1 month after the final injection.
Topical numbing is not necessary, and patients only notice a slight burning sensation at the injection points that lasts a few seconds. They can return to all normal activities right after the treatment. Noticeable bruising is to be expected with every QWO treatment. Patients should expect to wear pants or longer skirts for a couple weeks after each injection visit. You can apply topical arnica cream bid to speed resolution.
