What is Accufit?
Accufit is a revolutionary, non-invasive sculpting treatment that tones the abdomen, arms, thighs, and buttocks muscles to deliver impressive, athletic results. This device was specifically engineered to directly activate the muscles. It works by channeling controlled energy through the target muscle to prompt a range of responses depending on the chosen treatment mode.
Why Choose UnionDerm for Accufit Treatments?
UnionDerm was the very first practice to offer Accufit in New York City in early 2022. We also participated in a clinical trial with Accufit to assess the device’s ability for strength-building and muscle enhancement on the upper extremities by targeting biceps and triceps. Our findings were presented at conferences for both The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery; as well as published in The Journal of Lasers in Surgery and Medicine
What Can I Expect with Accufit?
Accufit delivers electro-muscular stimulation to the treated area through attachable electrodes. It builds muscle by causing muscle contractions—the same way exercise does. Unlike competitive devices, Accufit uses waveforms to simulate an actual workout. You’ll go through a series of twists, holds, grips, and taps. The relaxing treatments are about 30 minutes each and do not cause any discomfort! Our Board-Certified Dermatologists recommend an initial series of 4 treatments within 2-4 weeks. Optimal results appear in 8-12 weeks (more average muscle mass gain than any competitive device). We also offer an exclusive membership program for those interested in long-term benefits!
What Areas Does Accufit Treat?

What is CoolSculpting®?:
CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive procedure for the reduction of unwanted fat tissue, utilizing a patented method known as cryolipolysis, or the use of cooling to break down fat. CoolSculpting® employs precisely controlled cooling to naturally reduce unwanted fat in areas such as the abdomen, flanks, upper arms or neck and jowls (double chin). Only fat cells are frozen and once crystallized, these fat cells are naturally eliminated from your body.
What can I expect with CoolSculpting®?:
During the procedure, a non-invasive applicator is placed on the patient, and the tissue being treated is brought into contact with cooling panels on the applicator. The Coolsculpting system delivers precisely controlled cooling to target and eliminate fat cells in specific body areas, such as the abdomen, love handles and the back. The fat is cooled over a period up to 1 hourper application site while the patient is sitting comfortably in the office.
What areas does CoolSculpting® treat?:
Submental

What is InMode Envolve?
Eliminate the fat overlying the muscles while also increasing the muscle density. Evolve is the first, revolutionary, all-in-one platform that draws on 3 different technologies to remodel skin, target fat tissue and tone muscles. UnionDerm is one of the preferred researchers investigating the technology. We have seen significant results in patients with stubborn pockets of fat, laxity, and lack of muscle definition, even despite their regular healthy exercise and diet.
What can I expect with InMode Envolve?:
- Evolve Tite: Radio-frequency energy is scientifically proven to remodel skin and improve its appearance. The 8 hands-free applicators deliver uniform and volumetric heating to the skin & sub-dermal layer, to provide customized pain-free skin remodeling.
- Evolve Trim: 6 hands-free applicators which deliver Radio-Frequency (RF) energy and a tissue vacuum. The patented technology delivers a uniform thermal effect to the deepest layers of subcutaneous fat to provide ideal body contouring.
- Evolve Tone: works by emitting electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to simulate involuntary muscle contractions. Tone’s 4 hands-free applicators target specific muscle groups to refine the appearance and strength of the muscle.
What areas does InMode Envolve treat?:

What is Kybella?:
Kybella is a synthetic formulation of deoxycholic acid, which is a substance naturally synthesized by our body and used to break down and absorb dietary fat. Kybella has been under development for more than 9 years, and has been the subject of over 20 clinical studies involving more than 2600 patients. When properly injected in the chin area, it has been shown to dissolve submental fat (which causes double chin) and result in significant cosmetic improvement by creating a more streamline contour along the jawline.
What can I expect with Kybella?:
Kybella was approved by the FDA in May 2015. Dr. Chapas has participated in Kybella’s training program to train physicians nationwide since the summer of 2015. Kybella is administered by injections into the fat under the chin through a series of treatments spaced no less than one month apart. The treatment plan is tailored to the desired outcome by the treating physician. The total number of treatments varies–typically in the range between 2 and 5. We expect that most patients will receive two treatments spaced 1-2 months apart, but your physician will determine the best regime during your consultation based on your physiology and goals.
What areas can Kybella treat?:
Submental and Body.
What is QWO?:
QWO is a non-invasive injectable procedure that treats moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of women. We’ve also been treating the upper thighs with similar success! By injecting directly into cellulite, Qwo may help to breakdown or release the collagen-rich bands that pull on the skin surface and contribute to “dimpling.”
What can I expect with QWO?:
UnionDerm served as clinical investigators in the research that led to the FDA-approval of this injectable in 2019. We saw significant improvement in patients’ cellulite dimples and the most long-lasting results (several years) in the entire cellulite treatment category. Our Board-Certified Dermatologists helped develop the medical protocol for doctors around the United States to follow. Medical Director Dr. Anne Chapas has spoken about the treatment to SHAPE Magazine, New Beauty Magazine, The Aedit, and RealSelf.
Treatments should be repeated every 21 days for a total of 3 treatment visits. Results are best seen 1 month after the final injection.
Topical numbing is not necessary, and patients only notice a slight burning sensation at the injection points that lasts a few seconds. They can return to all normal activities right after the treatment. Noticeable bruising is to be expected with every QWO treatment. Patients should expect to wear pants or longer skirts for a couple weeks after each injection visit. You can apply topical arnica cream bid to speed resolution.
What areas does QWO treat?:
Buttocks.
What is TruSculpt?:
The truSculpt™ system provides non-invasive radio frequency treatment for body sculpting. TruSculpt™ uses radiofrequency energy for deep tissue heating that promotes the non-invasive removal of fat and the tightening of the overlying skin. In addition to reducing fat, truSculpt treatments can help improve skin tone, and can also improve the appearance of cellulite.
What can I expect with TruSculpt?:
Dr. Chapas and Dr. MacGregor are leading authorities on truSculpt. After working with Cutera, the device’s manufacturer, to establish the most effective protocols, we were pleased to offer truSculpt™ to our patients in early 2013. Our experience has been that truSculpt™ is well tolerated by our patients, with minimal discomfort and no downtime. Treatment time depends on the area(s) treated, but typically a treatment takes between 15 minutes and an hour per area treated. Typically 1-2 treatments are necessary for the best results, which generally appear over a period of 4-16 weeks following the treatment. We continue to work with Cutera to develop treatment protocols for new areas, such as the neck.
We have also found that truSculpt™ can often complement other body contouring treatments, and can be used to treat a wide range of areas, including certain areas that present challenges for other noninvasive systems.
